PBIS

Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. When implemented with fidelity, PBIS improves social emotional competence, academic success, and school climate. It is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable, and safe learning environments where everyone thrives. PBIS creates schools where all students succeed. RSM has a PBIS Team that is made up of administrators, school counselors, teachers, staff and students.

Here at Rancho Santa Margarita Intermediate, we do our best to promote a positive school culture by encouraging students to focus on positive behaviors through PBIS, a framework designed to support students in developing key life skills. Our school-wide expectations of being Ready, Respectful, and Responsible help create a positive learning environment for all students.

One important part of our PBIS program is the R-Mart, our school-wide store. Students can earn points by consistently demonstrating the Ready, Respectful, and Responsible behaviors we expect at RSM. These points can then be used to make online purchases from the R-Mart, which offers items students have requested through ASB. This has proven to be a powerful motivator, encouraging students to uphold our expectations and promoting a positive school culture.

However, keeping the R-Mart stocked with exciting and meaningful items is a challenge, and this is where we are asking for your support. The cost of maintaining the store and ensuring we have a variety of items that appeal to our students can become quite expensive. Any donations you can provide — whether monetary or tangible — will go directly to supporting R-Mart, enabling us to keep offering students the rewards they look forward to.
