Principal's Message
Mustang Families,
Please take some time today to review all the information on the newsletter site. Today is Monday, April 10th, 2023.
Our Spring Break Week was also National Assistant Principals Week. I would like to take a moment to thank Mr. Beck, Mr. Magnera, and Ms. Moore for all the hard work and dedication to our students and school community they show every day. They work hard in helping run THHS, and can be seen assisting at a variety of events and out on campus every day. We are so fortunate to have them here and I am lucky to be able to work alongside them.
As Spring Break was beginning, our track and distance athletes, under the direction of Coach Ayers and Coach Kelly, hosted one of the largest Distance Carnival/Invitational in the state. With over 90 schools and 4000 athletes participating. Their hard work is one of the many examples of our coaches and staff going above and beyond to provide our students with a world-class education and extracurricular experience here at THHS.
We hope you have an opportunity to come on campus these next few months to attend some of the many athletic and performance events. The last two months of school are the busiest, and provide our students with so many opportunities to celebrate and enjoy their high school years.
This webpage has highlights, student recognitions, and more! Please scroll through to see all the incredible things happening at THHS.
Ms. Alicia Foulk
Principal

Trabuco Track & Field
This past weekend, our Track and Field program hosted one of California's largest track meets, and we want to express our sincere gratitude to you for your support.
Over the course of two days, we had over 4200 entries and hosted approximately 91 schools, totaling 17.5 hours of track meet. I personally walked 26.4 miles during those two days. Nonetheless, it was worth it because we received nothing but compliments about our facility, program, and school.
Juan Medina and his team went above and beyond to ensure that our track was clean and well-prepared, from the shot put and discus areas, to the restrooms, and blowing off debris off the entire track. Mark Nolan and Marc Stern generously lent us their golf carts, while Carlos found two different athletic trainers for both days. We are also grateful to Jessica Hicks for her wonderful assistance with the financial side of the event, and to Alicia, Mike, Stefanie, and Crystal Turner for showing their support by give us encouragement in person the day of the meet.
More than 120 volunteers from the team, CSF, and NHS volunteered their time to help, and it truly takes a village to make an event like this possible. We also had at least one parent from each member on the team work.
Track is a sport where the power of moments lasts a lifetime, and it is our mission to create those special memories for every athlete that attends our meet. We hope that we accomplished that for everyone that attending the meet, and we appreciate your support and partnership in changing lives.
Trabuco is truly a special place, and we could not have done it without the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.

Fourth District PTA is proud to recognize the outstanding service and commitment of teachers and administrators who work with children and youth in our schools and who are committed to the mission and values of PTA and whose work extends throughout Orange County.
Congrats to Ms. Lotito-Byers, 4th District PTA Outstanding Teacher
Ms. Lotito-Byers is an 11th grade history teacher at Trabuco Hills High School. Her focus is to promote student engagement and active learning while developing student leadership through service and the promotion of the social sciences. As an 11th grade teacher, Ms. Lotito-Byers takes an active role in preparing her students for college and career. She takes time to know each of her students as individuals. Her class work promotes writing to ensure students have a strong foundation in this area. Many of her students feel very well prepared for college due to her class. She is often asked to provide references for her students for college and scholarship applications as she makes a personal effort to know each student and encourages them in their future goals. Students know they can count on her for extra help during lunch and snack as she makes herself readily available to support her students. Encouraging school activity involvement is important to Ms. Lotito-Byers and she oversees 3 student led clubs on campus: the Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, Debate Club, and Amnesty International Club. Ms. Lotito-Byers is also an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Lake Forest. She actively encourages students to apply for local scholarship funds through this organization. In addition to her full class schedule, mentoring students, and overseeing club activities, Ms. Lotito-Byers takes on volunteer leadership roles on campus that are instrumental in providing students with an exceptional education and school environment. She has served for many years as President of the School Site Council. In this role she encourages student participation and regularly asks their input and feedback. Ms. Lotito-Byers also makes sure that PTSA has a role on the council in not only finding parents to serve on the council, but by providing annual PTSA reports on engagement and involvement in the school. THHS also was awarded their WASC accreditation, a lengthy and involved process coordinating multiple department and area reports that was led by Ms. Lotito-Byers. Her emails always end In Service to Youth. Ms. Lotito-Byer's actions demonstrate this as she goes above and beyond to ensure our students are engaged and prepared for the future.
