Principal's Message

Mustang Families,

Please take some time today to review all the information on the newsletter site. Today is Monday, March 18th, 2024.

Our Juniors will continue participating in CAASPP and CAST testing this week in their math, and science classes. We encourage all students to do their best, and help THHS continue the tradition of being the top performing high school in the district. The current participation requirements make it even more important for our students to work hard so that we hit our 95% participation rate. Should you have questions about the testing, please reach out.

Due to testing we will be on a modified schedule this week.

This week is the last week of third quarter.

We invite you to scroll through this page for highlights, student recognitions, and more!

Congratulations, Class of 2024!

Congratulations to Shreyasmi Dolui from the 10th grade! 🏆

We are thrilled to announce that Shreyasmi Dolui has achieved a remarkable accomplishment at the Orange County Science & Engineering Fair (OCSEF)! Shreyasmi has secured the 2nd Prize in the esteemed category of Microbiology and Cell Biology. This outstanding achievement is a testament to Shreyasmi's dedication, hard work, and passion for scientific inquiry.

The OCSEF, renowned for its rigorous standards and fierce competition, featured approximately 1000 participants from across the region. Among this impressive cohort, Shreyasmi's project has stood out, demonstrating exceptional innovation and scientific prowess.

Please join us in applauding Shreyasmi for this well-deserved recognition. We are immensely proud of her accomplishments and the honor she has brought to our school community.

Let's continue to support and encourage Shreyasmi as she continues to excel in her academic pursuits and scientific endeavors.

High Schools from all over Southern California are invited to participate in the OCC Math Meet. Students compete to perform the best on a math test covering high school topics up to and including Calculus. There are team and individual winners as well as a raffle, giveaways, and dinner. Students also had an opportunity to learn about OCC programs for STEM focused students.

Congrats THHS PTSA!

THHS PTSA was presented with the 4th District Outstanding Advocacy Award this year. THHS PTSA advocated with the city of Mission Viejo to implement school zones on the streets surrounding THHS this year, and through the hard work and advocacy of President Keri Baert and student Rohail Ghulamali, as well as other students and parents, the city has implemented school zones on Santa Margarita Parkway and Los Alisos.

Thank you to Keri, Rohail, and other members of the THHS community for helping to make our school a safer place.

City of Mission Viejo Committee Opportunity

The City of Mission Viejo is seeking adult and student members for our Community of Character Committee.

The Committee helps to plan activities and outreach to promote good character in our schools and community at City events and through various programs. The Committee offers opportunities for service, leadership, event planning, public speaking, and involvement for our teen members.  This opportunity provides a fun way for students in 7th grade through 12th grade to strengthen their high school resumes, make a difference in their community, and fulfill their service hours requirements! The Mission Viejo Character Committee meets the first and third Tuesday evenings of each month from 5:00 to 6:00 in the Saddleback Room at City Hall.
