Mustang Families,

There are also quite a few winter sports contests this week, both at home and away. Be sure to check our athletics twitter feed or with the different programs if you are able to come out and support our wrestlers, soccer, basketball, or water polo athletes.

OC Register named THHS Boys Wrestling 3rd in OC! They are currently the No. 1 ranked team in the CIF-SS Division 3 Top 10. Keep at it, Mustangs!!

Trabuco Hills Boys Soccer
The Trabuco Boys Soccer teams had an incredible night against Tesoro, coming away with wins at all levels.
The Freshman started the Friday off with a 2-0 victory. Goals from Steven Martinez and Surya Perugapali put the boys in the lead, while the partnership of Noah Lim and Van De Kreeke kept the clean sheet at the back.
The Varsity boys kept it going, winning 2-1 in a close competition. Goals from Micah Roye and Cole Contreras put the Mustangs up. Magnificent saves from Drew Johnson kept the boys in the lead.
The JV boys capped the night off, with another 2-0 win. Goals from Jake Cunanan (C) and Tumelo Maieane gave the boys the lead. The partnership of Matt Rodriguez and Jimmy Muali were decisive at the back, keeping the Tesoro Titans goalless.

Sportsmanship is simple, treat others how you would want to be treated. Respect the game and everyone participating including student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators. Education-based athletics is more than winning, it’s about academic development, equity, and character.

Employment Opportunities
Good news! We've added two more tryout dates to give your students a greater opportunity to get the best job they'll ever have! In addition to the already scheduled tryout this Saturday, February 4, tryouts will now be held on March 4 and April 8 as well (see below for application deadlines).
Also, candidates who cannot attend any of these three dates may request an individual swim test. See the attached flyer for how to make that request.
Tryouts will be held at the Main Beach Lifeguard Tower on:
• Saturday, February 4, 2023. All applications must be submitted by Thursday, February 2, at 5:00 PM (PST).
• Saturday, March 4, 2023. All applications must be submitted by Thursday, March 2, at 5:00 PM (PST).
• Saturday, April 8, 2023. All applications must be submitted by Thursday, April 6, at 5:00 PM (PST).
No certifications are required prior to trying out. Candidates who are accepted into the Academy will receive all necessary training for the ocean lifeguard job.
As of January 1st, the starting wage for a seasonal ocean lifeguard is $21.49 with a 3% increase coming on July 1, 2023.

THHS Senior, Nikolas Bendis, represents the heart of a THHS servant leader. He has interned with the perople of Ukraine to find ways to fundraise for the Ukranian people. he, also, partnered with THHS NHS and Feed Me Incorporation to help feed children in Africa. He collected enought to feed 6 kids for an entire month. We are endlessly proud you are a Mustang, Nik!
