Principal's Message
Mustang Families,
Please take some time today to review all the information on the newsletter site. Today is Monday, January 23rd, 2023.
This week is a busy week at THHS. It is a winter spirit week (themed to Star Wars for the Winter Formal on Thursday). We have a rally during 2nd period on Tuesday, and the dance is Thursday night at AV Irvine in Lake Forest.
Our school showcase is this week as well. On Wednesday night, from 6-8 pm in our gym we will be set up with all of our programs and departments to share the incredible offerings at THHS. This is an opportunity for us to highlight our amazing school, students, and staff. The school choice window also closes on Thursday of this week (more information is at the bottom of this page).
There are also quite a few winter sports contests this week, both at home and away. Be sure to check our athletics twitter feed or with the different programs if you are able to come out and support our wrestlers, soccer, basketball, or water polo athletes. Our competitive cheer team also took first place this past weekend at a nationals-qualifying event. We are so proud of these incredible young ladies!
Wednesday and Thursday are both minimum days this week, and Friday the 27th is a staff in-service day. Students do not have school the 27th.
Ms. Alicia Foulk
Principal

__________________________________________________________________________________________
Please join us in congratulating the PE Students of the Month! Each week we will highlight a different department!
Lucas Short is an energetic student and athlete. What is most impressive is that he encourages and builds people up around him. He is the consumat giver of compliments and uses his words to make folks feel better having just been around him. Lucas works hard in school, he works hard in the weight room, he works hard on the field and while he does he is constantly encouraging those around him.
Rachel Tapia Valenica is a great student and a great worker in weight lifting class. Rachel works to exceed expectations and is a great workout partner. Communication, set-up, clean-up, Rachel is on point and working with her workout partners to make it happen. Rachel is a joy and in her own quiet way is a leader via leading by example in class.
Connor Stephan works hard in the weight room and is a great workout partner for his cadre. Connor is attentive to detail and ensures that his workout crew are set-up, safe, and doing appropriate weights for everyone in the group. His leadership is steady and he is productive. Connor is a great member of the class and sets the tone. Yesterday, we did an activity that was "to failure." Connor did a great job doing the activity but in addition to that, Connor was a great teammate while encouraging and spotting his workout group.
Jackie is always on task and not afraid to ask questions. She wants to learn and is always willing to help other students. She works hard to understand and always seeks out help when she does not understand. She is a great example of a student who puts in her best effort.

School Choice Intra-District Transfer
The School Choice Intra-District Transfer is the process for SVUSD residents who want to transfer their student to another school within SVUSD. This includes students who receive Special Education Services in Specialized Programs
Secondary School Choice application window is from January 9, 2023 through January 27, 2023.
This is for incoming 7th - 12th grade students for the 2023-2024 School Year
SVUSD School Choice English Application
SVUSD School Choice Spanish Application
All schools are open
- School Choice Intra-District Transfer only applies to students who live within the Saddleback Valley Unified School District attendance boundaries. Requests for placement will not be done on a first-come, first-serve basis, instead will be approved using an unbiased random Lottery selection process and only if space is available at the school requested. This is the only process in which to request a transfer from your school of residence.
- If you live outside of the SVUSD you will need to apply for an Inter-District Transfer from your resident district.
- Please complete one application per student.
- Students may request a 1st and 2nd choice of schools.
- Once the application is approved the choice school will become your school of residence throughout 9-12 grade. The district is unable to hold a space for your student at more than one school. Please give this consideration before submitting a School Choice Intra-District Transfer application.
- IF YOUR STUDENT IS NOT CURRENTLY ATTENDING SCHOOL IN SVUSD you will need to attach a current electric, gas, water bill or a rental/mortgage statement which clearly indicates your current address. (Your application will not be processed without this.
Secondary (entering grades 7-12) Notification: Status letters will be mailed home on March 3, 2023. Secondary applications will be approved or denied. No waitlist will be established.
If you have further questions, you may email us at student.transfers@svusd.org.
