Principal's Message

Mustang Families,

As we head into the week ahead, I want to share a few important reminders and highlights from around campus.

There is no school on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We encourage our community to take time to reflect on Dr. King’s legacy and his call to service, compassion, and unity. Please also note that Monday, January 26 is a non-student day, and there will be no school for students.

On Wednesday, January 21, we will be on a minimum day schedule as we prepare to welcome future Mustangs to campus for our annual Trabuco Hills High School Showcase. The Showcase begins at 6:00 PM and is designed for current 8th graders and their families to experience what makes Trabuco Hills such a special place. Guests will have the opportunity to meet our staff, explore academic pathways, athletics, and special programs, and take part in tours and demonstrations across campus. Activities will take place in the gym, select classrooms, and the Rally Stage, with parking available in all campus lots and information booths located near the Administration Building and the Rally Stage.

We also have a full week of athletics ahead. Girls Water Polo competes against Tesoro on Tuesday afternoon and Aliso Niguel on Thursday. Tuesday evening features Boys Basketball at home against Mission Viejo. On Thursday, Girls Soccer takes on San Clemente, followed by Girls Basketball hosting Tesoro. Competitive Cheer will represent Trabuco Hills at CIF Prelims on Friday and Championships on Saturday, and Boys Soccer wraps up the week with a home match against Dana Hills on Friday evening.

Thank you for the continued partnership and support you show our students and staff. We look forward to a meaningful week ahead and to welcoming many new families to our campus on Wednesday evening.

Attendance & Activities

As we move further into the school year, we want to reaffirm our commitment to your student’s success. Research consistently shows that regular attendance is the number one predictor of academic progress toward graduation. When students are in class, they are engaged, learning, and on track.

Monitoring Attendance via Aeries

We encourage all parents to log in to Aeries weekly to review their student’s attendance record. Specifically, please look for unexcused absences, tardies, and period truancies, as these result in demerits.

The Loss of Privileges List

Once a student reaches 10 or more demerits, they are placed on the Loss of Privileges list. This restricts them from participating in school activities, including Winter Formal, Prom, Senior activities, and Graduation. Students must have their demerits cleared to zero to participate in these events.

Winter Formal February 28

The THHS ASB is proud to announce their upcoming 2026 Winter Formal themed "Once Upon a Winter Formal."  For this celebration, the theme will be based on childhood fairy tales.

The THHS Winter Formal dance and festival will take place on February 28, 2026 at the Executive Hangar at the Fullerton Airport.  The venue is spacious and provides enough room for many fun and exciting activities.  An expansive outdoor area will host carnival rides and lounge seating.  On the inside of the Executive Hangar, students can enjoy a dessert bar, a live DJ with an area for dance along with the latest technology in entertainment lighting and special effects.  Picture opportunities will also be provided that will play along with our themed event.  Students can also take a break from the dancing and the rides in the student lounge area and full arcade with stand-up arcade machines along with other interactive games.

Our Winter Formal will be from 7 PM - 10 PM and we are proud to offer the benefits of a large outdoor space for rides and entertainment along with an indoor space that has room for the other fun activities planned for the evening.  Tickets will go on sale on Monday, January 12, 2026 on the webstore or in person at the student store on campus.

For information related to the dance along with other school events, we have created a THHS Dance Website that will provide you with ticket pricing, sale dates, and other general information to ensure your students have the best time!  See the provided link to our Dance Website below.
