THHS MTSS-SEB Parent Night

Hello THHS Students & Families,

We are hosting our Multi Tiered Systems of Support/Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports parent night to inform our school community about how we are addressing the social, emotional and behavioral needs of our students.  Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports for Social Emotional Behavioral Supports (MTSS-SEB) is a framework for organizing systems and practices that focus on creating a positive and supportive school culture for all.

Learn about the Mustang Way and our core values of being respectful, responsible and connected. Learn about the role of the THHS MTSS-SEB team and how they are building proactive systems to positively and pro-socially communicate, message and brand the core values and culture of the Mustang Way. Learn more about how you can get involved as parents, guardians and families.

We will discuss what happens when students do not meet the expectations of the Mustang Way and what we do when students meet the expectations of the Mustang Way. We will cover how Education Code addresses discipline, suspension and expulsion and how we are creating a system to incentivize students to meet the core values of the Mustang Way.

When: Monday, October 14th

Where: THHS MPR

Time: 6pm-7pm

AP college board logo

Online Exam registration will begin on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 8:00am and end on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:59pm.

The AP exam registration process has two steps, but both can be completed in one sitting when the student and parent do this together.  Even if you do not plan to take the AP exam, you need to complete both steps to access the College Board’s AP resources.

Both steps must be completed in order to have an AP exam ordered.

Step 1:

Begin the process by registering with Total Registration.  Indicate the AP courses you are taking this year and the exams you wish to take.  You will receive your join codes and directions to complete the second required step.  Any exam fees will be paid online so be sure to have a debit or credit card available before beginning registration.  Paying online is a great way to make sure that payment has been made while avoiding mailing payment.

Step 2:

Use the join codes provided at the completion of step one to enroll the student’s AP courses and exams in the College Board’s system.

Please note: both of the above steps must be completed in order to have an exam(s) ordered.

This year each AP exam costs $110.00.  Trabuco Hills High School desires that every student be able to take their AP exams.  Students requiring financial assistance should contact Kimberly Lindsay, kimberly.lindsay@svusd.org in the Guidance office to learn more.

Boys Cross Country

The Mustangs had an impressive showing at the Central Park Invitational! With many of the team resting for Clovis, Dylan Jubak truly shone, securing an outstanding 2nd place in the varsity race and setting a new school record on the Central Park course with a time of 14:42.

Dylan Jubak

Logan Jones also kicked off his season strong in the freshman race, contributing to the team’s performance. The freshman squad demonstrated solid improvement, finishing 7th and narrowing the gap between themselves and league rivals San Clemente. Overall, a fantastic day for the Mustangs! Keep up the great work!

National Signing Day

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL SIGNING DAY?

Please look out for a link in the coming weeks. Our signing day ceremony will occur on November 13th during our flex time schedule.

IF I AM GOING TO WALK-ON, DO I SIGN AN NLI?

No. An institution is strictly prohibited from allowing you to sign an NLI if you are a non-scholarship walk-on. In order for an NLI to be considered valid, it must be accompanied by an athletics financial aid award letter, which lists the terms and conditions of the award, including the amount of the financial aid. The athletics financial aid offer must be signed by both the prospective student-athlete and his or her parent or legal guardian. Simply put, there must be an athletics scholarship for an NLI to be valid.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

College sweatshirt and appropriate school attire.

NLI MEMBERSHIP

651 NCAA Division I and II institutions are NLI members. Not NLI members: Ivy League, Service Academies, Division III institutions, NAIA institutions, preparatory schools and two-year colleges. All members of the NLI program are required to offer athletics scholarships.

The following students have been recognized by NMSQT for their performance on the PSAT in Fall of 2023:

  • Abhinav Amineni
  • Athallah Ikrar
  • Hailey Lau
  • Norah Lee
  • Sophie Lee
  • Ayush Parekh

Congratulations to these students, and to all of their teachers, counselors, and staff that have supported them on their academic journeys.

Over 1.3 million juniors across the country took the PSAT (NMSQT) in the fall of 2023 to qualify for the National Merit program. Of those 1.3 million, 16,000 students qualified as semifinalists.  While these students did not make it to the semifinalist stage, they did earn high scores, and are being recognized among 34,000 students out of the 1.4 million that took the exam. The National Merit program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
