Coach Clemons directs the training of every athlete in the program and coaches the boys Varsity team. Coach Clemons has been named the Orange County Coach of the Year twice (2006 and 2011) and the California Coach of the year (2011). His Cross Country teams have won seven league titles, four Orange County titles, and two State titles. He has coached multiple CIF-SS and State finalist in Track & Field, including the 2010 1600m State Champion, Jantzen Oshier.
Coach Clemons is a full-time science teacher. He currently teaches AP Environmental Science and Biology. He attended Humboldt State University, where he earned a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication in 2001. He holds a teaching credential from CSU Fullerton and a MA in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University.
With over 20 years of competitive running experience, Coach Clemons knows how to achieve success in the sport of distance running. In 1995, he captained his high school Cross Country team to a Div. 1 State Championship. In college, he competed in both Cross Country and Track at American River College and Humboldt State University. Coach Clemons has also completed the Boston Marathon twice.
