Details: This presentation will discuss what stress is, how it affects people both physically and mentally, and will go over positive ways to help deal with stress. It will review useful tips, skills, and steps in order to help reduce stress.
Stress is a real or perceived threat that causes us to be in a state of mental tension and worry. On a regular basis, teens may stress about school, relationships, family, friends, work, college applications, money, not having transportation to places, etc. And oh yeah going through it all during a global pandemic! When exams are added on to this stress, it makes it difficult to cope with and they may need extra support.
Our Counseling team has partnered with Western Youth Services to provide interactive Social Emotional Learning (SEL) workshops for students during the school day. Each workshop will be approximately 1 hour and this Thursday, December 10th at 1:00pm we will be having a Stress Management workshop. It is open to ALL students (teachers are welcomed if you feel you need a refresher).
