Students must complete the following requirements:
Earn a minimum of 220 credits of coursework: 165 required credits & 55 elective credits
Visual or Performing Arts, World Languages or Career Technical Education
Note: Students earn 5 credits per class with a passing grade of A, B, C or D per semester.
A grade of "F" must be repeated in order to graduate and earn a diploma.
Submit eight (8) hours of community service or equivalent project during grades 9 - 12. The completed Community Service forms must be turned into your MVHS Student Services Technician by the end of the first semester of the student's 12th grade year.

SVUSD requires all students to complete 8 hours of community service to a non-profit organization in order to graduate. Students have 3 1/2 years to complete their service hours; the form is due to the guidance technicians by the last day of the first semester of their senior year.

During grade 9, all freshmen should create a tentative four year plan. The primary goal is to increase students' career awareness and to make informed decisions regarding their future post-secondary goals, educational and career. School Counselors will work with students to devise a Four Year Personal Learning Plan. The plan is meant as a working document which spans from grade 9 through grade 12, allowing students to keep track of their graduation requirements as well as requirements necessary for college admissions.
