Dear Mission Viejo High School Parents and Students,
Mission Viejo High School welcomes you to the 2018-19 school year. We are excited to share that MVHS was ranked nationally by the Washington Post as one of the top high schools in the nation. Only 12% of all U.S. schools made the list and we are proud that we are named one of “America’s Most Challenging High Schools.” Congratulations again to the Class of 2018! I would like to share a few of their accomplishments, including $7.5 million awarded in scholarships, 38 Full International Baccalaureate Candidates, and countless awards in the Drama Program, Choral Program, Marching Band, Color Guard, Model United Nations, Agriscience Program, AVID, and Athletics. In addition, 90 seniors received the Saddleback Community College Promise Scholarship, which promises to pay the first two years of college, all registration fees and book costs! Our award-winning programs, community partnerships, high expectations for all, and strong relationships are some of the reasons that Mission Viejo High School stands out among the best. As Diablos, we strive for excellence each day and follow our Student Learner Outcomes.
It is important that you know I welcome open communication, value your partnership, and will do all I can to ensure a positive high school experience for your student. In closing, I encourage you to join our wonderful Parent-Teacher-Student-Organization (PTSO). We meet the first Tuesday of every month. A special thank you to our PTSO, Boosters, and parent volunteers for your support, donations, and volunteer work to our many programs.
I look forward to an outstanding year. I will see you at Back to School Night on October 3rd. Go Diablos!
Mrs. Tricia Osborne
