Principal's Message

Dear Mission Viejo High School Parents and Students,

We are happy to welcome you back to the 2021-22 school year.  We are excited to share that MVHS received an award as a 2020 Best High School in U.S. News and World Report! We are ranked #412 out of thousands in the state of California in this prestigious publication.  We are also holding our ranking on the Washington Post index at #1108 as one of America’s Most Challenging High Schools!  I have more good news to share that MVHS had an 8% increase in Advanced Placement scores, which is the highest rate in the past 6 years. Our award-winning programs, community partnerships, high expectations for all, and strong relationships are some of the reasons that Mission Viejo High School stands out among the best.  As Diablos, we strive for excellence each day and follow our Student Learner Outcomes.

While things will look different and much of what we do normally will have to be adjusted, it is our aim to always do what is in the best interest of our students and their success here at Mission Viejo High School.  We have been hard at work to ensure the safety of the students and the staff.  Please read our guidelines and procedures carefully to safeguard against any possible risk.

It is important that you know I welcome open communication, value your partnership, and will do all I can to ensure a positive high school experience for your student.  In closing, I encourage you to join our wonderful Parent-Teacher-Student-Organization (PTSO).  We meet the first Tuesday of every month.  A special thank you to our PTSO, Boosters, and parent volunteers for your support, donations, and volunteer work to our many programs.

I look forward to an outstanding year.  Go Diablos!

Thank you,   Principal Tricia Osborne
