Laguna Hills High School

Principal's Message

principal

Hawk Community,

Welcome to Laguna Hills High School, the Home of the Hawks. What I like most about our school is that we offer a complete array of comprehensive curricula and programs in a small school setting. Our innovative programs include the acclaimed Two-Way Spanish Immersion Program, a four-year Model United Nations program, a flourishing International Baccalaureate (IB) program, robust Visual and Performing Arts, and highly competitive athletics. Students have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Spanish, French or Mandarin Chinese, completing course pathways in Advance Placement (AP) and/or IB classes. Our Technical Education program includes a newly implemented Computer Science pathway, cutting edge Automotive Technology and Culinary Arts Academy.

At Laguna Hills High School, we are committed to student achievement. The entire LHHS staff worked to identify student-centered areas of focus as we move towards our Western Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation cycle in Spring 2018. We centered on four areas of need: motivation, intervention strategies, effective instructional strategies, relationships and promoting wellness. Additionally, the professional development associated with those critical areas of need cultivated the revision of the LHHS core value statements:

LHHS Mission: At Laguna Hills High School, our mission is to provide a rigorous and accessible curriculum in a small-school, “family” environment. Welcome to the Nest!

LHHS Vision: By fostering creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills, we will prepare students for college and career, empowering them to build a better world through mutual respect and intercultural understanding.

Laguna Hills High School is a wonderful place to learn. Our slogan, “One Town, One Team”, embodies the relationship between city and school. Around here we refer to the Laguna Hills community as our “Hawk Family”. Welcome to The Nest!

Mr. Hinds
