Tutorial Policy and Procedures
1. Tutorial will be held whenever we are on a Regular Bell Schedule.
2. All students must check into Tutorial using the FlexTime online software app. Tutorial attendance will be recorded in Aeries, and students who do not check in will be marked absent. These absences will follow the same policies and procedures as any other class period.
3. All students must go to one of their own teachers’ classrooms during Tutorial, arrive on time, and stay in the classroom where they start. Students not in a classroom will be escorted to the Discipline Office and assigned a consequence. Progressive discipline will apply to repeat offenders.
4. All teachers are expected to be in their assigned classroom during Tutorial.
5. Students need to be sitting in seats, not on the floor, and are to use time productively. Some examples include the following:
a. Make-up work / assessments
b. Homework completion
c. Read silently
d. Clarify content or directions on assignments
e. Participate in teacher-assigned study groups
f. Request assistance from a teacher
g. Work on teacher-assigned group or class projects or assignments
h. Conduct research
6. Passes out of class:
a. No passes are allowed during Tutorial for students to use the vending machine (which are powered off during Tutorial), go to their locker, or conduct school business such as visiting Guidance or Attendance.
b. Students may be allowed out of class with a pass, only to use the restroom, and only one-at-a-time. Students out of class without a pass or in pairs/groups will be sent back to class and may be assigned consequences.
7. Cell Phones must be put away and may not be used during Tutorial.
8. Students who do not comply with schoolwide or teacher Tutorial expectations will be referred to the Discipline Office and will receive consequences.
