Policies & Procedures

Arrival & Dismissal

Students should not arrive at school before 7:45 am each school day.  There is no campus supervision before this time.  Students who arrive before 7:45 am will be asked to wait in the front office until campus supervision begins.

Cell Phones

Cell phones may not be used during school hours. The exception to this is if a teacher allows their class to use cell phones as part of an in-class assignment.  Otherwise, students may use the phone in the front office to contact parents, if necessary.  All cell phones should be kept in student backpacks.  If this policy is not followed, cell phones will be held in the front office until a parent is able to pick it up.  Saddleback Valley Unified School District does not assume liability for lost or stolen cell phones.

Classroom Interruptions

To help promote the learning environment, minimal classroom interruptions are encouraged.  You can help by doing the following:

  • If you are dropping something off for your child (forgotten lunch, homework, etc.), bring it to the front office and we will make sure your student receives it.
  • If your child is being picked up before dismissal time, come to the front office to sign him/her out and wait for him/her.
  • Email your child's teacher to schedule appointments, ask questions, etc.

All adults who have official business at the school are allowed on campus. All visitors must sign in at the front office, state their intended business, and receive a 'Visitor' sticker that they must wear while on campus. All visitors must sign out when leaving campus.

We love volunteers!  Adults who want to volunteer in classrooms, chaperone field trips, and/or participate in school and PTA sponsored events must complete a Volunteer Application, which is available in the front office and here: . A completed application and copy of a valid California driver's license must be submitted to the front office at least one week before the first time volunteering is scheduled. All applications are screened through the Department of Justice. Once approved, all volunteers must sign in at the front office and receive a 'Volunteer' sticker that they must wear while on campus. All volunteers must sign out when leaving.
