Policies & Procedures

Arrival & Dismissal
Students should not arrive at school before 7:45 am each school day. There is no campus supervision before this time. Students who arrive before 7:45 am will be asked to wait in the front office until campus supervision begins. Students are dismissed at 2:00 pm each day, with the exception of minimum days, when dismissal is at 12:55 pm. Adult supervision is provided for the 15 minutes after dismissal. Students who have not been picked up by 2:15 pm (or 1:10 pm on minimum days) will be asked to wait in the front office.
Cell Phones

Cell phones are allowed on campus, but may not be used during school hours. All cell phones should be powered off and kept in student backpacks. If this policy is not followed, cell phones will be held in the front office until a parent/guardian is able to pick it up. Saddleback Valley Unified School District does not assume liability for lost or stolen cell phones. If necessary, students may use the phone in the front office to contact parents/guardians.

Classroom Interruptions

To help promote the learning environment, minimal classroom interruptions are encouraged.  You can help by doing the following:

  • If you are dropping something off for your child (forgotten lunch, homework, etc.), bring it to the front office and we will make sure your student receives it.
  • If your child is being picked up before dismissal time, come to the front office to sign him/her out and wait for him/her.
  • Email your child's teacher to schedule appointments, ask questions, etc.
Visitors

All adults who have official business at the school are allowed on campus. All visitors must sign in at the front office, state their intended business, and receive a 'Visitor' sticker that they must wear while on campus. All visitors must sign out when leaving campus.

Volunteers

We love volunteers!  Adults who want to volunteer in classrooms, chaperone field trips, and/or participate in school and PTA sponsored events must complete a Volunteer Application, which is available in the front office. A completed application and copy of a valid California driver's license must be submitted to the front office at least one week before the first time volunteering is scheduled. All applications are screened through the Department of Justice. Once approved, all volunteers must sign in at the front office and receive a 'Volunteer' sticker that they must wear while on campus. All volunteers must sign out when leaving.
