As the school year winds down, it's always fun to reflect on another successful year here at Robinson. Our leadership team led the charge by starting our year with the school goal of increasing our understanding of engagement strategies (teacher actions) and found that the environment contributed greatly in the form of flexible seating. We plan on continuing that goal for next year. We also had numerous teachers expand their STEAM knowledge through the use of Ozobots and STEAM lessons. Our fabulous coach, Mrs. Glazener, was the lead instructor and helped the teachers to organize and plan lessons. She transformed her room into a combination STEAM Lab/Maker Space/Rube Goldberg Arena in which students and teachers created and learned. We added DoInk Green Screen applications to our iPads and the students have been utilizing them to retell and create stories. Don't forget our new English Language Arts adopted series, Benchmark Advance! Lots of learning on the teacher side, but our teachers are up to the task and continue to challenge themselves at continuous growth!
And then there's the students! Student Council, lunchtime flag football and soccer, the plays and performances (A Christmas Carol, The Little Mermaid Junior, Gold Dust or Bust, Possibilities, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, and each grade level in between!), Friday music, reports, tests, Claims Evidence and Reasoning, text evidence, complex text, read alouds, science experiments, and so much more learning...our Rattler students grew and learned so much this year!
And our amazing parents, ELAC, and PTA! Family Movie Night and Silent Auction, Book Faire, Jog-a-thon, 7th Annual Chalkfest, Variety Show, Cyber Safety, and the everyday conversations and collaboration. We are truly a village!
I hope everyone has a fun ending to the school year. Here's to a safe and relaxing summer, and until we see each other again in August, Go Rattlers!
