Principal's Message

Moving right along...

We are just about halfway through the first trimester and our staff and students are doing what they do best - teaching and learning!  Kids MUST learn powerful skills at communication and collaboration in the modern, active classroom.  With lots of opportunities to critically think, our students are working hard and learning concepts everyday.

Teachers have really embraced flexible seating and the students love it!  They are working in a variety of settings that gives them even more opportunities to be successful with their work.  Speaking of opportunities - Several teachers have applied for the Innovative Classroom makeover - an opportunity for two classrooms per school per year (elementary) in SVUSD.  This renovation will include a 75" Samsung monitor, an Extron wall control box, voice amplification with lapel mic and hand-held mic, and some new student furniture including flexible work spaces.

**We just found out that the two classrooms to be "innovated" this year are...Mrs. Curtis and Mrs. Stowers!  More information on the timing and such later...

October is Socktober at Robinson!  Our PTA Community Outreach Opportunity League (COOL) has activated our school community in hopes of donating new socks to the Rescue Mission of Orange County.  After the 12th, the classrooms (one primary and one upper grade) with the most pairs donated will earn a Sock Hop!

Family Movie Night and Silent Auction are almost here!  October 19th, we will have the auction followed by the movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas.  Fun games, Trunk-or-Treat activities, and lots of food should make for a fun family evening.

Always keep an eye on our school calendar for upcoming events.

Go Rattlers!

Mr. Kaplan
