Please make sure your children come to school with a full tummy, great snacks, and pumped up to do his or her best. Working hard is one of our school rules. All we want is for them to come to school with the attitude that they are going to do their very best. The school testing calendar is included in this newsletter.

During this time of year, we are starting to look at our staffing projections. Please make sure to return the paper sent out, call, or stop by the office to let us know whether you will be returning to Montevideo next year. This helps to avoid last minute classroom changes at the beginning of the year.

Spring has sprung especially at Montevideo. A reminder of our dress code is something that can help us here at school. Girls need to remember that even though it is hot outside we need to make sure our tank tops have at least one inch straps, they are not low cut, our mid-drift is not showing, and shorts are long enough to cover. Both girls and boys should not wear shirts that depict any demeaning or inappropriate connotations. Boys need to be conscious that their pants are not sagging. Respect is not only shown through our actions but also by how we present ourselves each day.

With that last few weeks of school left it is important to remain engaged in school. The children start to see summer vacation within reach and need reminders. Always doing our best and being polite to all of the adults in charge is always important. Your assistance with these reminders is so appreciated.

All About Mrs. Montgomery

Thank you for visiting the Montevideo website. This school is a hidden gem in Mission Viejo. The students, staff, families, and community of Montevideo make this a very special place.

Here is a little about myself:

I taught for almost nineteen years prior to becoming an administrator. This will be my nineteenth year with the Saddleback Valley Unified School District. I taught third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades in SVUSD. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta in Canada. This is where I received a Bachelor of Education Degree in Elementary Education. Next I received my Masters of Educational Administration degree from Cal State Fullerton. This year I am in the second year of my Doctorate in Organizational Leadership.

My daughter graduated from Boise State in the area of Communications/Public Relations. She now works in Seattle for Boise State. My son is a junior at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. I am also a huge animal lover. We share our home with two rescue dogs named Hershey and Lily. I love to spend time with my wonderful husband walking on the beach.

I have been very fortunate to have worked with many exceptional leaders in my career.

I love to learn new things and am a life long learner. I love to have fun, but always want excellent learning to take place. I truly believe that if children are in a place they are excited to come to each day they will learn to their optimal potential.

I have two rules to live by:

Work Hard and Be Nice
