Hello Melinda Heights Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the Principal of Melinda Heights Elementary. I have held many roles in my 33 years in education, most recently as SVUSD’s Director of Communications and Administrative Services and Principal of Valencia Elementary prior to that. Perhaps the role closest to my heart is that of classroom teacher for 23 years. It informs my instructional lens and continually keeps students as my focus for each decision that I make.

Building relationships and open communication are two of my core values and I look forward to getting to know you as an educational partner here at MHE.

• Parents and Guardians are invited to attend my informal “Coffee with the Principal” chats where my focus is listening to you and answering your questions.
• I’ll be in attendance at all PTA meetings and I encourage you to become a member, as well. Come join us! I am eager to collaborate and work together.

I, along with our entire staff, am committed to promoting positive behavior expectations and supporting the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of each and every student.
