Dear Linda Vista Magnet Students and Families,
I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Linda Vista Magnet. It is truly an honor to become a part of the Linda Vista family. I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and am looking forward to supporting students and families.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty years. I have worked with students from Transitional Kindergarten to sixth grade in a variety of roles. I was an elementary classroom teacher, a science coach, and a new teacher mentor. I began my administrative career in the Savanna School district in central Orange County and most recently served as the principal of Cypress Elementary School in Covina, California. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an educational leader to Linda Vista Magnet and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.
On a personal note, I was born and raised in Orange County and am proud to call it my home. I have two amazing children, a daughter Taylor and son Blake. Taylor works for the United States Congress in Washington DC in the field of public health and disaster management. Blake just started at the University of Hawaii, studying kinesiology and rehabilitation science.
I view education as a life-long process and am currently in my doctoral program at USC studying educational leadership with a social justice and equity lens. I am excited to begin my journey in Saddleback Valley and to learn all about the people and community who make Linda Vista so amazing. I am also extremely proud to be the principal of one of the few International Baccalaureate elementary schools in Orange County. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. My door is always open so please stop by and introduce yourself! I look forward to meeting you soon!
Ms. Shannon Wyatt
