AVID is a college preparation program for students with the determination to achieve at high levels. The mission of AVID is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

Glen Yermo is fortunate to be one of a handful of SVUSD elementary schools to offer the AVID program to all of our students.  AVID components and strategies including Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading are incorporated throughout our instruction in grades TK-6.  

After completing 6th grade, students can also apply to be a part of the AVID program when they continue to intermediate school, furthering their academic success and preparation for college.
