Foothill Ranch Elementary Traffic Reminders

Dear Bobcat Families,

Drop-off and pick-up can be overwhelming and extremely busy, especially during the first two weeks of school. Please allow additional time to park or wait in the carpool line.  It will be hot in the afternoons. If you are walking onto campus, consider bringing an umbrella, as there is little shade in the designated waiting areas.

Please take a moment to review this document and discuss a plan with your child/children.

Beginning on the second day of school (Thursday, August 15), Foothill Ranch will adhere to the following safety protocol:

  • Approximately 10 -15 minutes before school starts, designated drop-off areas (s) will be open to families and caregivers. We ask all family members/caregivers to exit the campus within 5 minutes of school starting unless they have checked in at the school office for scheduled volunteering.
  • Approximately 5 -10 minutes before the end of the school day, designated pick-up area(s) will re-open. We ask family members/caregivers to remain in those areas while waiting to pick up their student(s).

See the map below highlighting the designed areas for families and caregivers.

SVUSD will be installing perimeter fencing in the front of the school. Traffic guidelines may change once the fencing project is complete, and changes will be communicated on our website and through ParentSquare.

Please discuss the meeting point and routines with your child/ren, and practicing them the weekend before the start of school can ease everyone’s minds. We are the largest elementary school in the district, with twelve hundred students, staff, and teachers, parents entering/exiting the campus daily. We must work together to make drop-off and pick-up as safe and smooth as possible.

Thank you for your continued support!
