Principal's Message

Dolphin Families,

April 19 saw the return of all hybrid students to class for full day sessions - huge yay!!  This has brought with it the regular challenges for all of our hybrid students - sharing the playground, taking turns, and the general crowd of kids at school.  We have adopted the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports system, or PBIS.  This system is a way for all staff to teach our students the expected behaviors throughout the different areas in our school.  The teachers introduced our new acronym, W.A.V.E which stands for Work Together, Act Responsibly, Value Kindness and Encourage Safety, all of which combine for a healthy campus.  For our playground and field, we are spreading the message to all students on these expectations:  Have Fun, Be Kind, and Give and Get Respect.  We know that when our students practice these expectations, our school functions as it should - a great place to learn and have fun!

April 30 is the deadline to join our PTA and the top classes with the greatest percentage of membership will earn special assemblies - Kaplan Koncerts!  With a guitar in hand and a list of wacky and fun songs, he will lead the kids through a an entertaining good time.  Love the parent support!

Parents and guardians, thanks for all you do for our students!  You have proven yourselves to be invaluable in our students' education.  My door is always open, but make sure you call ahead for an appointment.  This will keep us all safe and at our best...and as always, Go Dolphins!

Mr. Kaplan
