Chart Your Own Course
At SVUSD Virtual Academy, we believe in empowering students to “Chart Their Own Course.” This guiding principle is at the heart of our approach, reflecting our commitment to providing a flexible and personalized educational experience.
Students have the flexibility to access classes, collaborate with peers, and to complete coursework on their terms. We encourage and support students to explore their passions, earn their AA degree, pursue their acting career, travel, play a sport at their residence school, and follow their personal interests—all while maintaining a balanced life. Whether it is completing a year of college before graduation, interning with a local organization, playing a club sport, or traveling with their family. “Chart Your Own Course” is a call for students to explore possibilities and to navigate their unique journey.
As a community-based online school, fostering connection and belonging is just as important as academic flexibility. We provide a supportive environment where students feel they belong, enhancing student motivation, academic achievement, and overall well-being.We offer in-person learning opportunities; student clubs such as Interact, video and tabletop gaming, gardening, arts and crafts; organize monthly family outings; and a schedule of live class meetings to create a strong sense of community.
By partnering with parents, students, and our dedicated team of educators, we continue to create meaningful, relevant, and flexible learning experiences that prepare students for their unique future.
