Enrollment & Registration

STEP 1: Enrollment

Enrollment is the first step to attend the SVUSD Virtual Academy. Whether you are currently attending an SVUSD school or new to SVUSD please indicate your interest in enrolling in the SVUSD Virtual Academy by clicking on the link below and completing the form.

STUDENT ENROLLMENT REQUEST FORM

Separate from the enrollment process, students will complete yearly registration documents and register for their classes. Registration appointments will be held at the beginning of August.  Registration information will be emailed to you in late July to explain the process, provide registration documents, and set-up registration appointments.

Please read and follow the additional enrollment instructions below.

New SVUSD Student: Additional Enrollment Steps

These instructions are for NEW students who have NEVER previously enrolled in an SVUSD school.

Step One

Complete the STUDENT ENROLLMENT REQUEST FORM (link above).

Step Two

Go to Saddleback Valley Unified School District website to register your student and create a SVUSD account: Aeries Online Enrollment (AIR).

IMPORTANT: To indicate your intent to attend the SVUSD Virtual Academy, instead of selecting the grade your student is entering, select the SVUSD Virtual Academy from the grade level/program dropdown menu. This will ensure your registration is sent to the SVUSD Virtual Academy and not your resident school.

Step Three

Gather the following required documentation:

  • Two proofs of address (current gas, electric or water bill, mortgage statement or lease agreement in parent/guardian's name – phone bills or credit statements cannot be accepted as residency verification)
  • A copy of the student’s current transcript or grade report
  • A copy of the student’s immunization record or yellow immunization card. Please note: effective September 10, 2010, state law requires that all students have the pertussis booster (TDAP) prior to attending school in California.
  • A copy of the student’s birth certificate (the student will be registered under their legal name provided on the birth certificate per California Ed Code).

Step Four

Contact the SVUSD Virtual Academy (949-580-3457) to set-up an enrollment appointment. Please bring the completed AERIES Internet Registration (AIR) Form and required documents (Step 3) to your appointment.

Current SVUSD Student: Additional Enrollment Step

These instructions are for students who are currently attending an SVUSD elementary, intermediate, or high school.

Current SVUSD students MUST be referred to the SVUSD Virtual Academy by the school they are currently attending.  Elementary students/parents should contact their school principal; intermediate and high school students/parents should contact their school counselor.  We cannot proceed with the enrollment without the referral.

Step 2: Registration

Registration includes updating your student's information through the Aeries Family Portal, and meeting with SVUSD Virtual Academy staff to submit required documentation and select students' classes.  Both student and parent must attend the registration appointment.

Registration appointments will begin the 2nd week of August. You will receive an email the last week of July to arrange your registration appointment.

STEP 1: Complete Data Confirmation

The SVUSD Virtual Academy registration process requires that you confirm your data online. To complete the online data confirmation process, you must have a parent portal account (not a student account). If you do not have a parent portal account or are unsure if you have one, please review the Family Portal FAQs.

The data confirmation window will open on Monday, July 30. Review, change, and confirm data you submitted on the AERIES Family Portal. Remember, you must have a parent account (not student account) to change the data. Follow all prompts and tabs within the Data Confirmation pages to review and update your student’s information regarding: contact, guardianship, emergency contact, and medical history.

STEP 2: Print and Sign the Required Documents

Following data confirmation, print and sign the following documents from the parent portal:

  1. One (1) copy of your updated Student Emergency Card.
  2. One (1) copy of the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians Signature Form.
  3. One (1) copy of your proof of residency (gas, water, or electric bill; mortgage statement; or lease agreement)

Additional Required Documents

STEP 3: Sign-up for a Registration Appointment

The student and at least one parent/guardian must attend the registration appointment before a student can begin their classes. Appointments are 15-20 minutes in length. It is important that you have all the required documentation completed.

Registration appointments will be held Monday, August 19 - Thursday, August 22 from 9:00am to 1:00pm at 25632 Peter A Hartman Way, Mission Viejo, CA 92691.
