The Adult Education Program of the Saddleback Valley Unified School District offers hundreds of classes to meet the needs of adults of all ages. These classes include classes for older adults (55+ Club), for adults seeking a high school diploma or GED certificate, for adults wanting to improve their vocational skills, for adults wanting to improve their English language skills and more. The Regional Center of Orange County is a private, not-for-profit corporation contracting with the State of California for the provision of services to persons with developmental disabilities pursuant to the Lanterman Act.
The State of California contracts with 21 non-profit agencies called regional centers , each one covering a different geographic region. The centers are the first stop for persons with developmental disabilities and their families seeking help to obtain local supports and services. Vocational Visions is a non-profit agency located in Mission Viejo, CA which provides vocational and life skills training and support services to adults with developmental disabilities. Vocational Visions has been in partnership with the Saddleback Valley Unified School District since 1974 when the program began with 30 clients and a staff of five. We currently have over 325 clients and a staff of 100, comprised both of SVUSD teachers and instructional aides and corporate employees.
