Esperanza Education Center held its Class of 2026 graduation ceremony on campus on Wednesday, June 3, recognizing 10 graduating students in its adult transition program for young adults ages 18–22 who receive special education services.

The celebration centered on student voice and personal reflection, with each graduate sharing a brief presentation highlighting their experiences, accomplishments, and growth during their time at Esperanza Education Center. Many students took the opportunity to recognize teachers, family members, peers, and meaningful memories that shaped their journey, creating a warm and deeply personal atmosphere.

Teachers also addressed the graduates, offering reflections on student progress and the strong sense of community built within the program. District leaders attended the ceremony as well, showing support for students, families, and staff as they marked this important milestone together.

One of the ceremony’s most memorable moments featured teacher Eric Bunyan and graduate Irvin Gonzalez performing a special song about Esperanza titled “On Eagles Wings.” The song was written by former staff member Mr. Mel Coe, whose lasting impact on the Esperanza community was remembered and honored during the performance.

Administrator Ray Bueche spoke to the significance of the program’s mission and to students' readiness to take their next steps beyond high school services.

“The ATP Program is entrenched in a simple but powerful belief: every young adult deserves the skills, confidence, and support to build an independent, meaningful life,” Bueche said.

The ceremony reflected both celebration and transition, honoring the perseverance and achievements of the Class of 2026 as they prepared to move forward. The Saddleback Valley Unified School District congratulates the graduates and recognizes the educators and families who supported them throughout their time at Esperanza.
