• All math and science courses are NCAA and UC approved. Each class is equivalent to one semester (5 units).  
• All math and science courses will be taught using a combination of both classroom and online instruction and course work. 
• Classes will meet from 8:30am - 10:15am or 10:30am - 12:15pm with a 15 minute break.
• Attendance is mandatory. 
• It is expected that students will work on their online coursework outside of their designated class time for at least 1 hours/day to complete their assigned online activities.
• Students who finish a course early may enroll in an additional course.

FOR STUDENTS GRADES 7-11 

• Courses will support students to develop foundational skills necessary to succeed in school.
• During the class, students should experience school in a positive and fun way, engaging in project based learning, hands-on activities, and working across content areas. 
• Teachers will provide small group or individualized support to students in areas where gaps exist.
• Students will earn 5 elective credits. 
• Attendance is mandatory. 

Description: 

• The SVUSD Summer Bridge Math courses are designed to support student success in their next math course.
• Students will be randomly assigned to period 1 or period 2.  Period 1 will meet from 8:30am-10:15am and Period 2 will meet from 10:30am-12:15pm. 
• Attendance is mandatory. Students who are absent for any reason for more than three days during each session may be dropped with no credit earned. 

Dates: 

• June 3rd-6th, 10th-13th, 17th-18th, 20th-21st, and 24th-27th

Courses Offered:

• Summer Support Bridge to High School Algebra (for current 8th graders).  This course will cover essential Math 8 content to support success in Algebra 1 in high school.
• Summer Acceleration Bridge to  Algebra 1 Accelerated (for current 7th graders).  This course will cover the Math 8 content standards taught in Math 7 Accelerated to prepare students for success in Algebra 1 Accelerated.
• Summer Support Bridge to Math 8 (for current 7th graders).  This course will cover essential Math 7 content to support success in Math 8.

• Operated by Pacific Coast High School (PCHS).
• Online, credit recovery for NCAA and UC approved courses in English and Social Science.
• PCHS courses are reserved for student-athletes needing to re-take an NCAA approved course in English or History.
• Students must be enrolled and submit work the entire six week session.
• Students may enroll in one (1) or two (2) five (5) unit classes.

LOCATION: Online via Pacific Coast High School.

DESCRIPTION: 

• Operated by the Orange County Department of Education, ACCESS Program.
• Online, credit recovery for UC approved courses in English and Social Science.
• Students must meet with their instructor at least once a week. Weekly meetings may be held in-person or online.
  • Students can meet with their teacher more than once a week for additional support as needed.
• Students may enroll in one (1) or two (2) five (5) unit classes in English and/or Social Science and one (1) elective.
