Lomarena Elementary School - Facility Needs Assessment and Plan

About Lomarena

Lomarena Elementary School is located in the city of Laguna Hills, educating students from transitional-kindergarten through 6th grade. Lomarena opened its doors in 1974. They take pride in going beyond the curriculum and learning theory to educate the whole child. Not only will you find their teachers delivering instruction using district and state adopted materials, you will notice an emphasis on purposeful instruction of social skills, manners, and ethics. Students are explicitly taught and reinforced by the caring staff. As a result, Lomarena is a safe and very friendly place. The teachers embrace all young Lions as their own. Monthly character assemblies recognize excellence in PRIDE by highlighting students who consistently exhibit Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Diligence, and Empathy.

The Lomarena Makerspace/STEM Lab was co-created by teachers and students, along with representatives from the community who are on the forefront of NGS Standards. The busy Makerspace is centrally located for easy access and frequent use by their scholars and emerging engineers. Students in grades 4-6 each have access to a Chromebook, while additional carts of Chromebooks are available as needed in grades TK-3. Ongoing Performing and Fine Arts opportunities are available to students during the Talent Show, school play production, and Art Masters lessons throughout the year.
