Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. Today, more than 400,000 middle schools, high schools and college/university students worldwide participate in Model United Nations. Many of today’s leaders in law, government, business and the arts participated in MUN during their academic careers, including U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, former World Court Justice Stephen M. Schwebel, actor Samuel L. Jackson, and former first daughter Chelsea Clinton.

Model United Nations, or MUN for short, is an academic program for high school students from around the nation and world. Each student represents different country and debates world issues, competing against other schools, both within their geographic area and from all over the world. But it does not stop there. Model United Nations provides a forum for young people from an assortment of backgrounds and from around the country to interact and to get to know each other in healthy competition. MUN has it all!

MUN provides an invaluable experience that will help to expand your sphere of knowledge and develop your understanding of different cultures and prevalent issues across the globe. It provides valuable skills required to thrive in our ever changing and globally dependent world, including research, writing, problem solving and public speaking abilities.

MUN is a 3-4 year program. You can join as a freshman or sophomore and continue throughout your high school career. For students that complete 6 semesters of MUN (you must be enrolled as a senior), you will receive special recognition at graduation.

Incoming freshman should enroll in Geography/MUN. Sophomores wishing to join should enroll in World History/MUN.
