Open Enrollment 2021




SVUSD’s annual Open Enrollment period will run from 11/3/20- 11/20/20


For 2021, SVUSD will continue to offer Blue Shield Access+ HMO*, Trio HMO*, EPO, and PPO, Optum Mental Health**, Delta Dental, VSP Vision, Voya Supplemental Life Insurance and Trustmark voluntary products.   Our Annual Open Enrollment period is your chance to make any changes to your benefit selections without experiencing a Qualifying Event.  For this Open Enrollment the District is partnering with Ward Services to process all benefit changes.  All Open Enrollment changes will take effect on January 1, 2021.



  • For the 2021 Open Enrollment, only those employees who wish to make a change to their benefit election will need to make a phone appointment with a Ward Services Benefits Advisor to make changes.  

    • A link and QR code will be available shortly to schedule an appointment

  • Please note that Flexible Spending Account (Healthcare and Dependent Day Care) enrollments do NOT automatically continue for 2021.  If you wish to be enrolled in the Healthcare and/or Dependent Day Care Flexible Spending Accounts for 2021, you will enroll when meeting with the Ward Services Benefits Advisor .  All FSA deductions are taken over 10 pay periods.

  • NEW for 2021:

    • Most medical plans will have an increase to the employee contribution/payroll deduction

    • District funded Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) for employees enrolled in a District Blue Shield medical plan and retirees enrolled in a District Blue Shield Retiree medical plan

      • Amount based on status and medical plan 

      • Eligible to use the HRA funds to pay for eligible medical, dental, and vision expenses

    • Trustmark - New Hospital StayPay plan available to eligible employees

      •  Please note that Ward Services cannot make any changes or terminate any existing policies other than those with Trustmark.

We will be holding Open Enrollment Zoom meeting and links will be emailed to employees.  For retirees, please contact the Benefits Department for the Zoom meeting links.
