Trabuco Elementary School - Facility Needs Assessment and Plan
Trabuco Elementary School is located in the city of Rancho Santa Margarita, educating students from kindergarten through 6th grade. The school opened its doors in 1952. Trabuco Elementary’s mission statement is “At Trabuco Elementary School, we believe effective education results from the positive partnership of students, staff, and parents. This partnership is built on a strong foundation of commitment to student achievement, and continues to grow with effective communication and collaboration between home and school.” They believe in:
- a challenging standards based academic program

- effective collaboration and communication with students, staff and parents
- a core curriculum expanded through fine arts and technology
- a school family focused on success for all students
Trabuco boasts a rigorous academic program in a beautiful school setting, a strong community network, and an educational farm and field study program that makes this school a very unique learning experience for its students. As Trabuco Elementary begins its one hundred thirty-seventh year of serving the canyon communities, they have much to celebrate. This school continues to score highly on state assessments; they have a progressive primary program where their youngest students are looped for continuous developmental progress in grades K-1-2; and, they provide a standards-driven academic curriculum in grades 3-6, focused on science and technology.
The Master Planners met with Trabuco's administration, teachers, parents and students to identify the school's facilities needs. An evaluation of the site was also performed by the architects and engineers. Listed below are the notes and meeting dates that have been held at Trabuco so far.
