Dear Preschool Families,

We are writing to share an important program update. Following a comprehensive review and careful consideration, the decision has been made to close all Expanded Learning Services Preschool programs at the end of this school year. This includes both the Preschool Connection and Best Buddies programs. Please note that this closure will not affect other Expanded Learning programs, such as The Learning Connection (TLC) and Summer Camps.

Over the past several years, we have experienced a steady decline in enrollment. This decrease, along with the resulting revenue loss, has made it difficult to sustain the program financially. Despite exploring multiple options to maintain operations, it has been determined that it is no longer financially feasible to continue beyond this school year.

We remain fully committed to providing a nurturing, engaging, and high-quality experience for our students through the end of the school year. At the same time, we encourage families to begin planning for the next step in their child’s educational journey in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District.  

Enrollment for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year opens March 16. Families may learn more and complete the enrollment process at www.svusd.org/register-now.

The district provides two additional preschool options for families with siblings who will turn three in the fall: the Learning Links Program and La Tierra Early Childhood Center. Information regarding these programs can be found on the district website at www.svusd.org.

For the past 30 years, it has been our privilege to serve the children and families in the Preschool Connection and Best Buddies programs. We look forward to watching your child continue their educational journey within SVUSD and are excited to see all they will accomplish in the years ahead.
