Bus Passes

Bus Pass Sales dates for 2018-2019.

June 6, 2018 at noon through June 22, 2018 4:30 pm.

Everything you will need to purchase a bus pass for 2018-2019 will be available at noon, June 6, 2018 on this website.

Our schools that offer limited busing for 2018-2019 are:

  • Linda Vista Elementary
  • San Joaquin Elementary
  • La Paz Intermediate
  • Rancho Santa Margarita Intermediate
  • Mission Viejo High School

Schools

Linda Vista Elementary

  1. Bus pass sales for 2017-2018 ran from 5/5/2017 through 6/16/2017.
  2. Linda Vista has included your students bus pass in their school packet you will be picking up in August.
  3. If you missed the bus pass sales period, please contact Linda Vista Elementary office staff directly to inquire about purchasing a bus pass upon their return August 14,2017.

Note: Please remember buses may appear to have space available even when all seats have been purchased. Not all riders who purchase bus passes choose to ride the bus daily based on appointments, absences, sports, and other activities they may choose to use the bus only during their off seasons or only on certain days or one way.

San Joaquin Elementary

  1. Bus pass sales for 2017-2018 ran from 5/5/2017 through 6/16/2017.
  2. San Joaquin will distribute student bus passes on 8/21/2017 at school. If you have further questions, please contact the school when they return August 14, 2017.
  3. If you missed the bus pass sales period please contact San Joaquin Elementary directly to inquire about purchasing a bus pass upon their return August 14,2017.

La Paz, RSM and MVHS

  1. Bus pass sales for the 2017-2018 ran from 5/5 to 5/19/2017.
  2. Application received during this sales period have been processed.
  3. La Paz, RSM and MVHS bus pass have been mailed to your home.
  4. If you sent in an application and do not receive either a bus pass or returned application due to the bus being full. Please email Bus Pass.
  5. La Paz, RSM and MVHS if you did not apply for a bus pass and still would like to purchase one. Please email Bus Pass and include the student's school, first and last name, and six-digit student ID number if it is known. Student home address to be added to the wait list.
  6. If your e-mail is received you will receive an e-mail within 72 hours excluding weekends and Holidays. If you do not receive a reply please check to see that you used the correct e-mail address.
  7. Any incoming students to the district will receive priority to purchase a bus pass over current existing students who had an opportunity to purchase during the bus pass sales period.
  8. Once notified that your e-mail was received and your student was accepted on the wait list there will be no further communication unless a space becomes available for your student.
  9. If space becomes available you will receive an e-mail offering you a seat along with all the information and forms you require to purchase a bus pass.

General Information regarding busing

All bus pass purchased are final and non refundable

There is no bus pass office or staff available for walk-ins.

All services are provided through the website and e-mail only.

The district receptionist has no bus pass information and cannot accept applications.

  • Applications accepted by U.S. mail with a postmarked of May 5 through May 19, 2017 only. Applications received before or after this date will be returned unprocessed.
  • Full payment in the form of money order only due with application payable to SVUSD.
  • No refunds. (no exceptions)
  • Students will not be allowed to board the bus in the AM/PM without a bus pass beginning the first day of school.
  • Students must carry and show their bus pass AM/PM everyday beginning August 28, 2017 through June 14, 2018 in order to ride the bus (no exceptions).
  • Pick up and drop off locations are based on your student’s home address listed on your student’s school file. Students can only get on/off the bus at their assigned stop.
  • Students must be at the bus stop five minutes, but not more than 10 minutes prior to the published pick up time.
  • When the driver arrives at the stop, he will load the bus with the waiting students and then proceed to the next stop.
  • Transportation does not need to be notified if your student is absent.
  • Bus numbers and time updates if needed will be posted on this website August 26, 2017 no later than 5pm.
  • Busing and school begin August 28, 2017 all students.
  • Lost or stolen bus pass replacement can be purchased through the website at buspass@svusd.org. Replacement $25.00 for first replacement add $5.00 for each replacement after that payable by cashier check or money order SVUSD.
  • Questions can be e-mailed to buspass@svusd.org.

    • Student first and last name.
    • Student six digit ID number if known.
    • School of attendance.
    • Subject: Bus pass replacement.
  3. Complete Replacement bus pass form attached.
