About De Portola

De Portola is located in the city of Mission Viejo, educating students from kindergarten through 6th grade. The school opened its doors in 1972. In partnership with staff and community, De Portola provides a challenging and nurturing learning environment for students. Their continued goal is for all students to master the California Content Standards appropriate for their grade levels. They also know that every child is unique, so they offer enrichment and intervention experiences that expand their intellectual and emotional capacities. In addition to the academic strengths at De Portola, they work closely with parents to ensure that when students complete their studies at our school, they possess the intellectual, physical, and emotional tools to be successful in the years ahead. De Portola is proud to have been named a California Distinguished School in 2004 and again in 2008.
