Meet the Principal
It is such an honor and privilege to be a part of the Glen Yermo Elementary School Staff and community. The dedication, enthusiasm and expertise of the teachers and staff in this school are recognized throughout the Saddleback Valley Unified School District and the State of California. We are an award winning school! In 2016, we were awarded both the California Gold Ribbon and Title I Academic Achievement Awards.
My years of schooling have provided me with a respect and understanding regarding the rigors of academia. I can truly relate to the students enjoyment of learning and the joy of innovation and creativity. I obtained my Bachelors of Arts degree in Child Development from California State University, Fullerton. I then went on to Chapman University for my teaching credential and my Masters of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Additionally, I received my Administrative Credential from the University of California, Irvine.
The education of students (of all ages) has been a passion of mine for most of my life! I have worked in the public school system for thirty years, and have had the opportunity to work with students in kindergarten through eighth grade. I served as a Mentor Teacher for a number of those years and am a fellow of the California Reading and Literature Project. I have presented both locally and nationally in the areas of reading, curriculum, assessment, gifted education and school wide reform. I have also served as an adjunct professor for Concordia University and as a "Teacher on Special Assignment" coordinating the Tustin Unified School District Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program. Before joining the Glen Yermo family, I was the Principal at Del Cerro Elementary in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District, and I greatly enjoy my position as a school administrator.
On a personal note, my husband Ken and I were married for almost thirty years before his passing. Our legacy of love continues with a precious ten year old boy named John! John and I enjoy church, traveling near and far, amusement parks, reading, being with friends, hiking in nature, and spur of the moment adventures.
You can always reach me by phone at 949-586-6766 or through email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is such a blessing to be a part the Glen Yermo family, and each year I look forward to working with all of you as we join together to ensure the continued success of all our students.
