I have taught at El Toro for five years. I currently teach Spanish 4 AP/IB periods 1 & 3 and Spanish 2 periods 2, 4, & 6. In the past I have taught Spanish 3, Spanish 3IB, Spanish 5, and Spanish for Spanish Speakers 1.
I taught English as a Second Language in Ecuador at both the high school and university levels for more than nine years before returning to the U.S. where I worked as a substitute teacher in the El Monte Union and Duarte Unified School Districts for one year. I then taught Spanish 1-4AP at Washington Preparatory High School in the Los Angeles School District for thirteen years before coming to the Saddleback Valley Unified School District in the fall of 2001.
I received both my B.A. and my M.A. in Latin American Studies from U.C.L.A. I have been married to Mercedes since July 1978 and have three children: Andrea (age 27), Scott (age 23, and Jennifer (age 20 and a 2004 El Toro grad)
I have been a soccer referee for the past thirteen years. I currently ref AYSO during the fall and CIF during the winter sports season.
