Notices

All sixth grade students will be provided with homework planners at the beginning of the year.
In an effort to help them become responsible for their own success, they will given time at the end of every school day to write down their daily assignments and homework assignments. They will be reminded to include unfinished class work, long term projects, and test study in their planners.
If you are not sure about your student's homework, ask to see his/her planner. If it is not clear to you what they have been assigned, request that they get a signature in their planner daily from me. I can make sure that they have everything written down and that they have been reminded to take the necessary textbooks home. Additionally, your signature will show that you have reviewed their assignments with them on a daily basis.
Your student will have homework every day, Monday through Thursday.

Class work and Homework
Your student will have a weekly Spelling Contract that he/she should be working on nightly. Each assignment in the contract should be done neatly and with a proper heading. Encourage your child to do 50 points on the contract. That is 100%.

Your child will have math homework nightly.

We average a story a week in reading. Your child will be assigned to reread that story at home one evening before the test. The test includes vocabulary from the story.

Additionally, we will constantly be working on Health, Science, and Social Studies. Ask about upcoming tests.
