Welcome Kinder Gates Gators! I am really looking forward to meeting all of you on our first day of school, September 13th.

Parents, we will be having our Back-to-School Night before school starts on Thursday, September 9th. The English presentation will be held from 6:00-7:00 pm in room 25 and the Spanish presentation will be held from 7:00-8:00 in room 25. This is a parent only meeting. Please arrange for daycare. You will be receiving more information regarding Back-to-School Night in the mail.

Supplies:
I know many of you are eager to get some school supply shopping done before school starts so here is a list that may help you. We will also be sending home a letter requesting a few other items that we will need throughout the year. That supplies list will be sent home the first week of school.

*a regular sized backpack (no wheels please)
*a lunch box (with your child's name on it)
*Clorox disinfecting wipes

supplies to keep at home for homework:
*pencils
*erasers
*scissors
*glue
*crayons

Things to do to prepare your child for kindergarten:

*Please talk to your children ahead of time that they will be in a classroom where they will be learning Spanish. Let them know that I don't speak English :) but I do understand everything that they are saying to me.
*Read a book to your child about Kindergarten. There are a lot of wonderful titles out there.
*Make sure they know how to write their name.
*Here are some concepts that we will be reviewing at the beginning of the school year that you can get a head start with your child now: colors, shapes, counting to 10, letter names and sounds. REMEMBER ALL THESE CONCEPTS ARE TAUGHT IN SPANISH.

12:40-1:00: 3rd Academic rotation
1:00-1:20: snack/recess
1:20-1:40: 4th Academic rotation
1:45-2:05: ELD rotations (ENGLISH)
2:05-2:40: Language Arts, Social Studies and/or Science whole group
2:40: Dismissal procedures
2:45: Dismissal
