Communication with the School:
When a parent/guardian has a concern or question about a student’s progress or lack thereof, they should contact the teacher first. 95% of student/teacher problems can be remedied with parents/guardians and teacher working together to help the student meet the course requirements. If there is a problem that is not resolved satisfactorily through this line of communication, the Guidance Specialist can be contacted to help facilitate communication. If there is still a need for resolution, the administrator who oversees the specific department will be contacted by the Guidance Specialist for a conference between all concerned parties. We encourage parents to contact teachers as often as necessary to stay current with their student’s progress. Please be aware that teachers are not available for phone calls during class time, but you may leave a message for a return phone call within 24 hours, or the switchboard can inform you of the time when a teacher is available during their preparation period. Notes written to teachers and delivered by students also serve as an effective means of communication.
