Change in Summmer Camp Location
The location of our lacrosse summer camp has been changed to Rancho Canada Elementary School, 21801 Winding Way,
Lake Forest, near the corner of Lake Forest Blvd. and Serrano Road-across from Heritage Hill.

Request for Feedback
I have received the following request from the administrators at El Toro HS, please take time to respond.
Without feedback, we can not make the program better.

The purpose of this correspondence is to encourage you and your student-athlete to participate in an athletic program
survey. The survey is in the format of a questionnaire. Its purpose is to allow me and the school's athletic program
administration to evaluate the effectiveness of our policies and practices as they relate to athletic programs. The
questionnaire is anonymous, although you can provide your name if you prefer. The questionnaire is on-line and
accessible from the athletic page via the ET home page.In addition to the variety of multiple choice questions,
there is an opportunity to make comments as well.

It is important that your voice be heard. It is also important that you carefully consider each question and consult
with your participating athlete as you complete the questionnaire.

Thank you,
Coach Lee

Other Summer Lacrosse Camps
Here is some information on camps in no particular order:
1. University of Redlands - July 26 to July 29 - $350. The coach at Redlands is great - I am sure it will be well organized - but Redlands in July?
2. UC Berkeley - Not sure of dates and costs. I have heard this camp is good - but read my warning about large college camps
3. UC Santa Barbara Nifty 60 - July 30 and 31st - $345. Limited number of campers and you are suppose to be at a certain skill level
4. Team OC - June 6 and 7 in Newport Beach - 1 to 4pm - $50. You can not beat this cost and it is local - good to try and see if you like a camp
    environment

There are many on the east coast. I do not know anything about them.
Kristina and I attended the Stanford camp - we would not recommend it - too large and the better coaches instructed
players they wanted to recruit.

If you are really serious about playing lacrosse and refining your skills you might want to look into - this is
expensive Team OC

Warnings -
College camps can have great coaches, but at the larger camps you may not get to work with them directly.
Camps are usually only as good as the other campers that attend - the better they are - the better the camp - usually.

Upcoming events, notes and comments for you to consider as alternatives or additions to college camps:
1. El Toro HS - $65 - Summer camp - June 29 to July 16th - Mondays to Thursdays from 4:30 to 7:00pm (Two Team OC
    coaches will be instructing)
2. Girls Lacrosse summer league is forming - details to be determined
3. Girls Lacrosse fall program will be put together again through the Serrano Hawks - start late August - Cost to be determined
4. Girls Lacrosse fall league is forming - details to be determined
5. Participants in the fall league (and maybe the summer league) will have opportunities to attend tournaments

Thanks,
Coach Lee

Many would say we had a successful season because of our win and loss record on the varsity and the jv levels.
While winning is why many play the game; and yes it is more fun to win then lose; and yes I hate to lose -
Winning in and of itself is often short lived - what lasts longer are the memories.

Here are some of my many memories of the 2009 Girls Lacrosse season:
15. Second largest program in Southern Section CIF Lacrosse - not many programs in California have 3 teams
14. 61 players in the program - 59 scored goals
13. 9 players made the "Top 20" in their respective grade levels for GPA achievement, 12 players received "Charger Excellence" awards
12. 4 players made the Southern California Regional team that traveled to Maryland
11. 5 players made all-seaview league first team and 3 players made all-seaview league second team
10. 2 players named to all-county first team; 1 player named to all-county second team
9. Seeing all of the players (varsity and jv) enjoy themselves at their games
8. Seeing the young coaching staff grow and mature during the season - I do not know what I would have done without them
7. Doing the right thing when it came to helping out Foothill HS
6. Watching the varsity team after their loss against Los Alamitos in the semi-finals - they handled themselves as winners
5. Watching the OC CIF championship game with players - supporting Los Alamitos and cheering "Where is Beckman"
4. Watching the varsity team after their victory against Foothill - so many smiles (yes, I know this has to do with winning)
3. Receiving my "Team Miyagi" T-shirt at broomball
2. Listening to Maria lead the varsity cheer
1. Coaching Kristina

Thanks for allowing me to coach your daughters,
Coach Lee

Lacrosse Retains CIF Status
It was announced on May 15 that the Saddleback Lacrosse Boosters had reached an agreement with SVUSD that would
enable lacrosse to remain a CIF sport within the district. Many thanks to Tim Redwine, Jody and Scott Craycraft,
and others for spearheading this effort to preserve CIF status for Saddleback District high school lacrosse.
