Abbreviations for On-Line grades

Unfortunately, the district grade reporting site is not capable of identifying each teacher's grade codes. For Mr. Hollander's classes, the following abbreviations will be used:

no = "not turned in" - zero points

zp = "zero-pencil" - assignment was turned in using pencil, instead of pen - zero points

ch = "cheating" - consequences vary depending on whether cheating was on a homework assignment, a notebook, or a test or quiz. Always a zero on that assignment

ex = "excused" - not counted in overall grade (NOT a "zero")

tr = "truant" - student was truant absent, may NOT make up the work, and receives a zero

ab = "absent" - missed an assignment due to absence NOT a truant - student has a limited time to make up the work (see the Student Planner for school policy) - NOT a "zero" unless work is never turned in

inc = "incomplete" - rarely used - a zero until work is finished
