OVERVIEW

Organization is very important in all classes. In my class, students will need the following supplies for the year and replacement of these supplies as they are consumed:

1. three-ring binder
2. lined paper for binder
3. pencils/color pencils
4. pencil pouch to be fastened to binder
5. eraser
6. calculator (basic or scientific for students in higher math classes).
7. highlighter
8. subject dividers for binder
9. ETHS planner

Planner and notebook checks are made randomly and bonus points will be given based on having correct supplies and organization.

Please expect homework Monday through Thursday. It's very helpful if you establish a set time of at least 30 minutes to an hour each evening (Mon. through Thursday) for homework. If materials are forgotten or student finishes quickly, a library book or sorting coupons can fill the required time. This one practice can eliminate so many problems for students. If there doesn't seem to be any homework coming home, please call me.

Late work policy: I have a new homework policy. Homework is due at the beginning of the period for full credit. Late work that is turned in by the end of the day will receive half credit. This is more in line with regular class requirements and is intended to establish work habits that will help in outside classes.

Progress Sheets: On Friday, beginning September 13, students will receive a progress sheet for the week. This is intended to support their effort and serve as a tool for communication. Please expecct one every Friday for the first four weeks.

Absenteeism: In addition to the normal ETHS procedures, I would also appreciate a call in the morning if is a student is going to be absent. This really helps us in planning the day. My number is 586-6333 ext. 6176.
