Are you ready to strive for academic excellence?

AVID has just entered its second year at El Toro High School and is doing excellent. AVID is designed to help students gain access to higher education. The AVID elective teaches students all the skills that are necessary to achieve success at a four-year university. Some of the areas of study include:

Time management
Organization
Reading skills
Writing Skills
Test Taking Strategies
AVID Tutorials

Consider this quote:
"You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else."

The goal of the AVID class is to teach students the value of higher learning and critical thinking, and to help them play the high school game to the best of their ability. With hard work and a commitment to achievement, a college education is just around the corner!

Have questions? Please feel free to check out the What Is AVID page and explore the rest of the site to gain a better understanding as to what AVID is all about!

Thank you for your interest in the El Toro AVID Program!
