Students will be responsible for:
1. A notebook (3 ring binder and paper) is required of all ceramics students and must be kept in class.

2. Be on time to class and seated when the bell rings so accurate roll may be taken. Tardies will be given. This means you are not to be standing around or getting your work, but rather sitting, listening for attendance and instructions.

3. Hall Passes will be given to you each semester. You may use them only after you have been in class and only for school acceptable business (locker, bathroom, etc.). You only have 4 passes and when they are used, you do not have permission to leave class.

4. Make full use of class time, understanding that productivity during class is essential to completion of projects by the due dates. Work from other classes may not be done during ceramics. Non-work days will be noted and Use of Class Time grade lowered.

*USE OF CLASS TIME GRADE: All graded projects include the Use of Class Time as criteria in evaluation for the grade. Non-work days, poor "classroom/community behavior," bad language, not cleaning up or not completing assigned clean-up job, throwing clay, or anything deemed unproductive to the classroom environment will affect the "USE OF CLASS TIME" grade, and therefore, the grade in the class.

5. Do not wait at the classroom door for dismissal. Remain in your seat until your teacher dismisses you (Dismissal is based on cleanliness of the room at the end of the period).

6. Use equipment carefully, clean it after use and return it to its proper place in the classroom.

7. Participate in clean-up responsibilities without complaint, or argument, doing a thorough job of the task. The quality of your clean up affects the Use of Class Time grade.

8. Make every effort to attend Demonstration Days when the new assignments and new vocabulary are explained.

9. Head phones and individual music may not be listened to in class.

10. The highest level of language and behavior will be expected in this class. Humor is appreciated (but keep it clean, and not mean spirited).

11. Never touch others' property, their projects, their clay, or their personal equipment stored in individual boxes, on shelves, or on carts.

12. Nothing will be thrown in this class at any time. The throwing of clay will result in immediate class suspension as well as an F grade for Use of Class Time.

13. Grading
A grade will be earned by the combination of: 1) Projects completed, each with a specific criteria, including Use of Class Time (a positive contribution to the classroom-community, in ways such as peer teaching will help the Use of Class Time grade).
2) the keeping of a comprehensive Notebook, and 3) Final Exams..
